Yaaseen Barnes, an award-winning comedian, has received two prestigious accolades in South Africa’s comedy scene: the South African Comic’s Choice Award for Best Newcomer and the Intermediate Comic of the Year Award. He has been recognised as one of the country’s top youth by the Mail & Guardian and has hosted the Social Gaming and Coconuts show on DSTV.

Yaaseen is also the director of the Jive Funny Championship and actively promotes young comedians in Cape Town. With sold-out shows and international performances, Yaaseen is a trailblazer in South African comedy. In 2022, Barnes premiered his one-man show, “Can’t-centrate”, at the National Arts Festival, receiving critical acclaim and an Ovation Award. His captivating style and humor continue to establish him as one of the country’s most talented comedians.
